New Blog Name - We Have A Winner
You guys all came up with some great suggestions and helpful advice.
Spadoman reminded me that a lot of what I write about is peace... I'm kind of a hippie.
Enemy Of The Republic reminded me that I should focus on who I am, or an image I want to portray. Since I am a work in progresss, I don't quite know how to define who I am. I think if I do, I will limit myself to being only that. I'll be stuck in a rut. I almost went with a new blog name along the lines of Who Is Anne? or Who Am I, Where Am I Going?
Slaghammer had no way of knowing I actually DO sometimes call myself Anne Onymous as a joke.
And Deuddersun had no way of knowing that I tell my kids they have to listen to me because I'm the queen - Queen Anne. It's an inside joke, but now you're in on it too. Plus he added the concept of not just a regular queen, but a pirate queen. Now how can I resist that? I've always considered the Internet as a pirate medium.

One unexpected effect of this name change is that it really made me think, who am I? And you know what? I thought I knew, but I don't. I realized I'm still changing and getting to know myself every day. Another interesting thing was hearing a bit about how everyone chose their blog names. I'd love to hear more.

Woozie is just the name of a GTA character who I particularly liked, and the watermelon guy is Famous Amos. The picture was just too funny to pass up.
Woozie - thanks, I always wondered where your name came from. And I've seen Famous Amos before on cookie wrappers, but I never paid too much attention to him, so I didn't recognize him. Didn't he have a beard before? It is kind of a crazy picture. I started to write about my picture etc. here, but it's a long story. I think I'll just make it into a post.

OK, a nice name Anne. I think you should adopt an avatar of you, beheading someone...
As for my own online identity, it simply popped into my head one weekend morning, and I built an email account with it. later, when I started blogging, I figured it to be fairly descriptive, (an uncomfortably accurate), so I used it.

Eccentric Recluse - I like your name. You're right, I need to upgrade my avatar, but not to a drawing of me chopping off someone's head. I'm a pacifist pirate. Jeez, I don't even eat meat. I'll just drink a little rum, buckle a few swashes, and yell "yo, ho!" at the occasional "ho." Pretty harmless, I think.

Beth - that's interesting. I was wondering if you really were a referee, or if you say that as a joke because maybe your kids argue a lot. And maybe blind as a bat was a joke about your referee job? Don't worry, the bats won't hurt people. I love bats.
Dorky Dad - I'm finding out that a lot of people didn't pick their own names. Mrs. Dorky certainly is creative. (You're not really dorky either, are you? You seem pretty cool to me.) I couldn't choose a good alias, so I just went with my real name, Anne.
I thought my blog name up all by myself! That's why it's so stupid.

You know how they say that criminals who have aliases always try to retain something of their former, true, identity--for example my friend's grandfather, Martina Johnson, who changed his name to John Martin to evade the police in Minnesota. So it is with blog names, I think. I tried blogging totally anonymously, and I just can't do it. I want to be me, I guess, as sorry as that sometimes is. So, long story short, Roy was the name of my pet turtle when I was a kid.

Always thought of myself as a pirtate in a former life. Didn't use that theme, though, on my blogs. I went with my name. My surname is Spado.
One day, as a teen in Vietnam, I was introduced to smoking pot. I git crazy and was laughing so hard, The change from reality, (being in a war zone), was pretty good.
The guy who turned mo on asked me, "Hey, Man, What's yer name, Man?"
I answered, "Spado, man."
He said, "Spadoman?"
I answered again, "Yeah, man, Spado, man"
He said, "Cool, Man, Spadoman"
And here I am. I tucked that nickname away when I left Vietnam in 1970. After I left there, no=one but the guys I srved wit and myself knew of that name.
After a while and my pwn personal healing had begun, it was time to go back and celebrate parts of my past. so, I am Spadoman.
